Please join us in celebrating Ada
Our beloved Ada Doris (Cole) Farrell, 93, of West Greenwich, died peacefully on October 21, 2024 at Westerly Hospital in Rhode Island. She was the wife of the late Walter E. Farrell and later companion to Ray Fuller. Born in Cranston, she was a daughter of the late Frank J. Cole and Doris H. (Jacques) Yattaw.
Ada lived in Coventry & West Greenwich. Her life had many twists and turns over those 93 years, She was champion of change and she thrived in the eye of adversity. Ada continued to grow regardless of her circumstances. Her indomitable spirit served her well. She was determined to push through challenges and succeed, even in difficult situations.
It's never easy to say goodbye to a loved one. This website will provide every one of Ada's friends and family full access to the funeral program. Our intent is to provide you a glimpse across the timeline of Ada's life and a snapshot of her genealogy. Everyone will have the opportunity to share stories and the impact that Ada had on your lives. Hopefully all the photos will bring you comfort because this family always has a camera close by to capture the moment.
This web page was lovingly designed by her granddaughter, Kelsey Johnson, and her wife Brittany Chiang. The slideshow was designed by Ada’s nephew-in-law, Trent Spurgeon, as a tribute to Auntie Ada.
Ada touched a lot of people and always helped anyone who was in need. She was truly the matriarch of our family. Ada was a surrogate mother to many, many people and she never missed an opportunity to offer her opinion & mentor women. She had a strong connection to people from every generation. I'm sure each one of you also impacted Ada's life in your own special way and reciprocated the love she shared. She now lives on in you!

Ada’s Auntie Ada
Ada Doris Cole was named after her mother Doris (Jacques) Cole and Doris’s oldest sister Ada (Jacques) Harrop. Auntie Ada died at the age of 32, just a few years before Ada Doris Cole was born in 1931. Ada Harrop & Walter Harrop were Albert & Virginia Harrop’s parents. Al and Ada were 1st cousins and were very close as children. Albert and his wife Helen were lifelong best friends with Ada & Ray. Al, Ada and Ray lived within a block of each other in Cocoa Beach, Florida. They shared many, many fun memories over the years. Ada was his caretaker until he passed at the ripe old age of 94. Ada’s sister Virginia (Our Auntie Ginny) is named after Albert’s sister Virginia.
